BUILDING PLATFORMS

STACK EMEA is committed to fostering an inclusive culture that empowers all employees to fulfill their potential. We're implementing several DEI initiatives across EMEA that enable us to deliver meaningful change while supporting personal and professional growth.

In May 2024 STACK EMEA hosted its first-ever Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Groundworks Conference. The event brought staff and expert speakers together for two days of learning and networking, with four main goals:

1. Establish foundational awareness: Introduce employees to what DEI in the workplace is and why it is important.
2. Educate on better practices: Provide practical tools and ways to implement DEI initiatives effectively within the company.
3. Encourage leaders and employees to take action: Adjusting policies, infrastructure, behaviors, biases, etc.
4. Enable a sense of community: Shared experiences, learnings and social connection.

The 2023 Women's Summit in Milan

In May 2023 STACK EMEA hosted its inaugural Women's Summit. The summit provides all STACK EMEA female employees with tools and inspiration as well as the opportunity to make powerful networking connections and open a dialogue to mentor and encourage one another.

EDUCATION

As the industry continues to grow, we need to continuously build talent pipelines

Finding the right people is a critical consideration as industry growth continues to accelerate. In 2020 we launched our Critical Infrastructure Technician Apprentice program to fill local talent gaps by identifying tradespeople from outside the industry with the right skills and mindset.

STACK also continues to collaborate with local schools at all levels to bring data centers into the classroom and vice versa. Our internship and apprenticeship programs create accessible pathways for diverse candidates to enter our industry.

In Milan, STACK offers various education opportunities by partnering with local high schools, universities, and those continuing education. In 2023, we formalized our ongoing commitments to fostering technical education and creating local jobs by signing the City of Milan's Work Pact and a similar agreement with the Province of Pavia.

In Zurich, STACK partners with the go tec! student STEM laboratory. The lab provides a hands-on space for youth to learn about computer science, natural sciences, robotics, and technology. Thanks to our partnership, it now also introduces them to the exciting world of data centers.

UNITING YOUTH WITH TECHNOLOGY TO INCREASE DIVERSITY & GENDER EQUALITY

In 2022, STACK EMEA sponsored the Tech4Women Challenge, an initiative of the Women's Forum.

The Tech4Women challenge closely aligns with STACK’s vision that technology can be an enabler of opportunity, and our support is a testament to our commitment. We know that vision alone is not enough; we must actively support and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to attract and retain women in roles at all levels across the technology industry. By supporting initiatives like Tech4Women, we hope to encourage and attract more female talent to STACK, and to the technology sector as a whole.

Donating and volunteering give staff a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to and form relationships with communities

In Milan, STACK EMEA has donated fiber connectivity to the local municipality, providing access to high-speed internet to the schools and public library.

In Frankfurt, STACK EMEA has committed to constructing a parking structure and recycling facility for local residents.

In Switzerland, STACK EMEA contributes to the Confederation's Winter Reserve, providing part of our emergency power generation capacity to the Swiss national grid to avoid winter blackouts caused by peaks in demand.
